CMD holds first discussion on vision 2016
The Center for Media and Dialogue has on Friday 05 June 2015 held a talk show event in the Netherlands on the info vision 2016 and the community’s expectancy towards the elections in Somalia in 2016 – it was part of CMD’s projects to mobilize the diaspora.
The occasion, which was co-organized by the Horn Media and Communications Ltd, was invited by the Somali ambassador to the EU nations Dr. Ali Faqi and Former Minister of constitutional Affairs and Reconciliation of Somalia and now member of the federal parliament Abdi Hosh Jibril.
The debate on vision 2016 was being narrated by Yusuf Garaad Omar, former BBC Somali service.
Many of the Somali community leaders in the Netherlands including women attended the meeting and showed their optimism about the role of the international community to end the crisis and set up federal states in Somalia.
The aim of the discussion was to inform the diaspora about the facts on the vision 2016 Somalia and the government’s achievement in making it successful and reaching the system of federalism in entire the horn of African nation ‘Somalia’.
It was the first gathering by the Center since it was launched on 2 May 2015 in the port city of Rotterdam in south of the Netherlands.
